This unique percussion ratchet is hand crafted of bamboo and hardwood by artisans in Ghana. It is played by holding the handle and spinning the bamboo body. As the tongue spins around the sprocket a loud, crisp click-click-click sound is bent. This is a fantastic hands-on instrument for children, and very effective as an ambient noise maker. Minor cracking in the bamboo at the end of the ratchet is common and doesnt affect the sound or endurance of the instrument. All ratchets are inspected and played before shipping.
